Overview
The Machu Picchu tour 1 day to the main tourist destination of Peru and one of the wonders of the world, is a package that offers you an excellent service to make your visit pleasant and unforgettable. Itinerary
Day 1: Machupicchu Tour
Pickup will be from your hotel. The exact time will be coordinated with you a few days before your trip. From Cusco, we’ll take a private car to the train station in Ollantaytambo. There, we’ll board the train to the town of Aguas Calientes, a journey that lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, following the course of the Vilcanota River. Along the way, you’ll be able to see Inca archaeological remains and the starting point of the traditional Inca Trail.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, our staff will be waiting to transfer you to the bus station. From there, we’ll take a short ride up to the Inca city of Machu Picchu, where our guide will be waiting for us at the entrance.
Once inside Machu Picchu, we’ll enjoy a guided tour of approximately two hours, exploring the most important and iconic areas of this archaeological wonder. You’ll learn about the mysteries surrounding its long abandonment, as well as its complex architecture, surrounded by agricultural terraces and irrigation channels that allowed year-round harvests.
The citadel is made up of more than 200 structures, including houses, plazas, storage buildings, temples, palaces, and observatories. Highlights include the Temple of the Sun, the Main Plaza, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Temple of the Condor and Other points of interest include the Funerary Rock, the Main Gate, the Acllahuasi, the Royal Mausoleum, and the Princess’s House, among many other marvels.
In the afternoon, we’ll take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes. From there, we’ll board the return train to Ollantaytambo, where our private car will be waiting to take us back to the city of Cusco.
