This unique program will take you to explore the magical city of Cusco with an unusual city tour, visiting places that are little known and full of history. During this exciting journey, we will walk around 10 hours to get to Machu Picchu, where we will witness impressive landscapes of mountains and rivers as we enter the Cusco jungle. We will enjoy hiking activities, such as the exciting excursion to the Humantay lagoon, which will receive us with its imposing snowfall and its turquoise waters, reaching an altitude of 5200 meters above sea level at the top of the mountain of colors. In addition, we will explore beautiful landscapes such as the 7 lagoons of Ausangate and we will give ourselves a well-deserved rest in the Pacchanta hot springs, located at 4200 meters above sea level. Itinerary

Day 1: Walking Tour in Cusco

Discover the heart of Cusco City on our exciting walking tour, Join us as we explore the depths of Inca history with expert guidance. Our tour will take us to emblematic places, starting with the Mirador de San Cristobal, from where we can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the city. We will continue along the picturesque Calle 7 Borreguitos, immersing ourselves in its colonial charm and fascinating stories. We cannot miss the opportunity to visit the ancient Sapantiana Aqueduct, an impressive example of Inca hydraulic engineering that still survives in the urban landscape. We will also marvel at the famous Stone of the 12 Angles, an extraordinary example of Inca art and architectural precision. We will continue our walk through the lively Main Square, the vibrant heart of the city, where history and daily life intertwine in fascinating ways. Finally, we will explore the bustling San Pedro Market, where the colours, aromas and flavours will immerse us in authentic Cusco culture. Join us on this journey through time and culture, where every step brings us closer to the ancestral legacy of the Incas. Day 2: Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Abra Málaga – Santa Teresa – Hidroeléctrica – Aguas Calientes

  • 06:15 am: Departure from Cusco heading to Ollantaytambo.
  • Short technical stop of approximately 30 minutes to stretch our legs.
  • Continue ascending winding roads to Abra Málaga (4316 meters / 14,209 feet above sea level), where we will enjoy spectacular views of the mountains and the Peruvian jungle.
  • After a stop to capture panoramic photos, we will begin our descent into the lush Cusco jungle, crossing different altitudinal zones that offer views of towering snow-capped peaks and the warm cloud forest.
  • Arrival in Santa María, where we will continue along well-maintained roads to the town of Santa Teresa.
  • Arrival at Hidroeléctrica for a comforting lunch.
  • Proceed to Aguas Calientes via a scenic path along the train tracks and the Urubamba River (approximately 3 hours), arriving around 5:00 pm.
  • Check-in at assigned hostels or hotels, with free time to rest or enjoy the relaxing hot springs (optional).
  • 7:00 pm: Dinner and an informative briefing with our guide, preparing for the exciting visit to Machu Picchu the next day.

Day 3: Machu Picchu

  • Guests will have the option to reach Machu Picchu by bus or on foot.
  • The guided tour of this archaeological wonder will begin at 7:00 am and last approximately 2.5 hours.
  • Afterwards, we will return to Hidroeléctrica via the same route taken the previous day.
  • From there, we will board the vehicle back to Cusco city, arriving around 10:00 pm (train return optional).

This day begins early, at 4:30 am. We will pick you up at your hotel and start our road trip to Mollepata, where you will enjoy breakfast. Then, we will continue along a dirt road until we reach the town of Soraypampa. From there, we will begin a hike of approximately 1.5 hours to the beautiful Humantay Lagoon, located at an altitude of 4,200 meters (13,780 feet) above sea level.

You will have time to enjoy the stunning landscape and take photographs. This tour has a moderate difficulty level and requires a good physical condition.

After visiting Humantay, we will descend back to Soraypampa to board our vehicle, which will take us back to Mollepata, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch. Then, we will continue our journey back to the city of Cusco, arriving around 6:00 pm, where we will spend the night.

At 04:30 am, you will depart from your hotel to Cusipata, following a paved road to Paucarpata for a delicious breakfast. Then, you will head to Qomer Qocha to begin a hike of approximately 1 hour to the impressive Montaña de Colores (Vinicunca), at 5,200 metres above sea level. The hike is medium level and requires a good level of fitness. You will have time to capture spectacular photos. After the visit to the mountain, you will return to Qomer Qocha and take our vehicle to a restaurant for lunch. After a short rest, you will return to Cusco, arriving around 17:00. Overnight in Cusco.

We will start the tour by picking up the group from their hotels at 04:30 a.m. to go to the community of Pacchanta, located in the foothills of the snow-capped Ausangate. The trip takes approximately 3 hours from Cusco, accessing through the South inter-oceanic road and a dirt road. In Pacchanta, we will enjoy breakfast before starting our hike to explore the 7 lakes. After two hours of walking, we will arrive at a viewpoint from where we will be able to appreciate the first lagoon, Pucacocha. We will then continue our tour to visit the other lagoons, including Patacocha, Alqacocha, Qomercocha, Orco Otorongo, China Otorongo and Azul Cocha, each offering stunning scenery and photo opportunities. After completing the circuit of the lagoons, we will return to Pacchanta to have lunch and enjoy the hot springs. Afterwards, we will prepare for the return journey to Cusco by the same inter-oceanic route, arriving in the city at around 19:00 p.m.

 

After several days of intense activity, the day comes to say goodbye. At the coordinated time, our vehicle will stop by your hotel for the transfer to the airport and it will be the end of our services.
