Itinerary
Day 1: Q’eswachaka Inca Bridge

The Q’eswachaka Tour begins with pickup from your accommodation between 4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.
If your hotel is not located in the historic center of Cusco, the meeting point will be at our main office. Once the entire group is gathered, around 5:00 a.m., we will start our journey south of Cusco.
After approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, we will arrive at the town of Cusipata, where we’ll enjoy a delicious breakfast to recharge our energy for the adventure ahead.
We’ll then continue towards the district of Yanaoca, one of the eight districts that make up the province of Canas, a region where Andean traditions are proudly preserved. From there, we’ll travel about 30 more minutes to reach the district of Q’ewe, home to the legendary Inca suspension bridge of Q’eswachaka.
At this point, we’ll have our first panoramic view of the bridge, suspended between the majestic cliffs of the Apurímac River canyon. The scenery is breathtaking — perfect for taking unforgettable photos. Then, we’ll descend along a steep path to a natural viewpoint, from where we can fully appreciate the magnitude and beauty of this ancient masterpiece of Inca engineering.
Next, we’ll cross the Q’eswachaka Bridge, woven entirely from ichu grass (a native Andean plant fiber) using techniques passed down from generation to generation since Inca times. Feeling the bridge sway beneath your feet is an exhilarating and deeply authentic experience.
On the other side, a local representative will explain the construction, maintenance, and annual renewal ceremony of the bridge — a centuries-old tradition recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
After this unforgettable experience, we’ll continue to the Four Lakes Circuit of Canas: Pampamarca, Asnacqoccha, Acopia, and Pomacanchi. Surrounded by golden hills, these tranquil lakes offer spectacular scenery and are home to Andean wildlife such as wild ducks, herons, and pink flamingos. We’ll stop at one of the lakes to enjoy a short explanation and take photos.
We’ll then return to Cusipata, where we’ll enjoy a buffet lunch featuring delicious local dishes.
Finally, we’ll begin our return trip to Cusco, arriving around 4:30 p.m., after a day filled with history, living culture, and breathtaking nature.
