Itinerary
Day 1: Tour 7 Ausangate Lagoons

We begin the tour with pickup from your hotel in Cusco between 4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., heading towards the community of Pacchanta, located at the foot of the majestic Ausangate snow-capped mountain. The drive takes approximately 3 hours, following part of the Interoceanic Highway and then a dirt road leading to this beautiful Andean village.
Upon arrival in Pacchanta, we will enjoy a delicious traditional breakfast and get ready to begin our hike to the famous Seven Lakes Circuit.
The adventure starts with a 2-hour hike to the first viewpoint, where we can admire Pucacocha Lagoon, known for its reddish hue and its stunning reflection of the surrounding mountains. We’ll then continue to Patacocha and Alqacocha Lagoons, both surrounded by breathtaking landscapes of high Andean grasslands and snow-capped peaks.
Further along, we’ll reach the turquoise lagoons of Qomercocha and Orco Otorongo. The latter stands out for its unique shape and colors, reminiscent of the Andean jaguar (otorongo). Nearby is its “companion,” China Otorongo, named after the female of the species. The panoramic views of these twin lagoons are spectacular — perfect for unforgettable photos.
Finally, we’ll visit Azulcocha Lagoon, the last stop on the circuit, famous for the deep blue color of its waters and the stunning mountain scenery surrounding it — one of the most beautiful landscapes of the entire hike.
After exploring all the lagoons, we’ll begin our return hike to Pacchanta, which takes about 2 hours. Once there, a hearty lunch will be waiting for us, followed by free time to relax in the natural hot springs, while enjoying the breathtaking view of Ausangate Mountain.
After this moment of relaxation and connection with nature, we’ll return to Cusco, arriving around 7:00 p.m., concluding a day filled with impressive landscapes, Andean culture, and unforgettable experiences.
